Storyline

A family of white trash drifters arrive in Honolulu and take up residence in a suite at one of the most expensive hotels in town. However, when their money is about to run out the the father of the family, Sam Fergusson, takes a job at a local café as a dishwasher. However, at the end of the week Sam and his son Jeb murder the owner and the cook and steal a small amount of money. Soon they move from job to job repeating the same pattern of taking menial jobs and murdering the owners of the businesses for menial amount of money. They are soon linked to several similar murders on the mainland where over 150 other people were killed. Now Five-O must find the Fergussons before they escape and continue their bloody path. Possibly the series most disturbing episode
13 March 2007 | by (Camilla, GA) – See all my reviews

Veteran character actor Slim Pickens plays the patriarch of a family of murderers that will go to no end in order to acquire "ill-gotten gain." The quintet (including Barbara Baxley as the mother and Bo Hopkins as the dim-witted but equally as vile son) have committed crimes all on the mainland, with Hawaii its next "target." Unfortunately, they encounter McGarrett and he brings to an end their crime spree, even though a number of bodies pile up before they are apprehended.

As always, Morton Steven's musical score is a treat, with piercing strings providing a sinister accompaniment to the hillbilly killers, sort of a warped take on the then-popular "The Beverly Hillbillies." Baxley's final utterance in the offices of McGarrett is chillingly surprising!
