Storyline

A convicted murderer escapes prison. He has been threatening a woman, spurring McGarrett to arrive at the woman's home with police officers. As the lawman arrives, the convict calls, telling the woman he will kill her by nightfall. While McGarrett guards the woman, he also probes to find out more about the circumstances that led to the man's conviction. It's clear that McGarrett believes there's more to the case than she has been telling. Written by Bill Koenig

Trivia

The scene where Chin and a phone company technician trace the call was reused from Season 3 episode "The Ransom". See more »

Goofs

McGarrett reveals to Carol that the cartridges in the revolver are blanks. A blank does not have a projectile (bullet) in the nose of the casing, but it does contain powder and to keep the powder inside, the end of the casing is crimped shut. When McGarrett holds out his palm we can see that the shells are merely hollow empty casings, incapable of being fired even as a blank. See more »

Not bad...with a twist.
12 April 2010 | by (Bradenton, Florida) – See all my reviews

This episode begins McGarrett and a uniformed officer waking a woman out of her sleep to alert her that a convicted killer has escaped from prison. Considering she testified against him, she is understandably worried--especially since he promised to get her! Much of the episode consists of McGarrett locked in gay banter with the lady. Additionally, every so often, the killer would call to taunt her--as if the police protection about her is of no consequence.

The show is a bit talky but excels with its interesting plot. The twists are very good and it's nice to see such an interesting female character. Well worth seeing!

By the way, the shot of Chin and the telephone employee searching the phone lines, according to IMDb, was used in another episode. It actually was used in two, though this series FREQUENTLY reused shots. The external shot of Five-O headquarters, McGarrett's car turning a corner onto another road as you see a traffic signal in the fore ground and many other shots are reused a lot in the show. Most of the time, you'd only notice this if you have the series on DVD--viewers who saw it each week when it originally aired would never have noticed most of these instances, as home recorders didn't 'exist at that time.
