An assistant district attorney is killed when he finds a ''box man'' i.e. safecracker rifling through the attorney's office on a Sunday. The assistant DA was preparing to prosecute Matsukino, a local mobster. The key piece of evidence, a handgun, is now missing. McGarrett brings in Matsukino and his right-hand man, Cardonus. McGarrett does a bit of psychological game playing by letting Matsukino go and keeping Cardonus in the lawman's office. The Five-O leader reminds Cardonus that Matsukino doesn't like to leave loose ends. After Cardonus is released, his car blows up. Cardonus, knowing that Matsukino wants him dead, goes to Five-O. McGarrett wants Cardonus to testify at the upcoming trial. The question is whether Five-O can keep Cardonus alive to make the court date. Written by Bill Koenig

"Five -0 , Your'e just boy scouts" "I'm a dead man."

"Deathwatch" was another interesting episode with another guest appearance. This time Nehemiah Persoff, as you can see he has quite a history in TV and film. In this story he is Harry Cardonus, a friend of a mobster. But Mobsters friends can't be trusted, and McGarrett needs him to testify against Harry's back stabbing buddy. Will Steve McGarrett bring down the Mobster, who by the way was involved with the murder of his friend, the DA whose widow, is about to deliver a child? So they both hole up in a hotel room until the trail the next day. Harry is convinced he is a dead man. Not even 5-0 can protect him. And a lot happens in those few hours, despite all of McGarrett's men, attempts on his life threaten the entire hotel. Will he live to testify? Will Steve and he become friends waiting it out? Entertaining character play between the two in the hotel room, despite some "whatever" happenings. Wait, McGarrett's got an idea!
