Warning: Spoilers
Paladin rides into town just in time to witness a gunfight won by the town badman, Kramer (Jack Lambert, familiar as Joshua in "Riverboat"). Kramer gets his gun hand wounded however, and the town smells blood. This may be their chance to get him. Paldin's old friend Sheriff Toby (Dick Rich who played Sheriff Clyde in "Homecoming" the year before) isn't about to go against the will of his friends for a villain like Kramer. So despite his dislike for Kramer, paladin agrees in the name of justice to help escort Kramer out of town at 4:30 in the morning.

This script poses a lot of good moral issues and puts Paldin in an interesting position of doing what's right for someone who's a bad guy. jack Lambert is terrific as the hard Kramer and Boone is in top form doing what Paladin has to do, even though he has a distaste for it.

There's lots of good action and tension in this episode. My only real complaint is they kind of lose track of the idea that they're leaving at 4:30 in the morning. Their day for night shooting is more day than night and there's an awful lot of people still in the mob at that time of night. Don;t they ever get sleepy? And where are the usual burning torches? Lewis Martin, who plays the doctor, also appeared with Dick Rich in "Homecoming".
