Paladin : [to Ben Tyler] You are going back with me, either sitting in a saddle or lying across it.
Paladin : Don't think too long. Lovett's rid of the Sherrif. He'd like to make people forget it with a fast conviction of Tyler. Give him that and he'll hang Tyler so fast all you'll be able to do is cut him down.
Hey Boy : Look cautiously over my right shoulder.

Paladin : Ooh, so early in the evening.

Hey Boy : I look for you all over.

Paladin : Well, I took the Brunette out two nights ago, and the Blonde the night before that. But I made no further engagements with either one of them. There are other things in life. Poker, for instance.

Hey Boy : Maybe ladies don't like play poker.
Paladin : You're a puzzle, Tyler. You wouldn't be the first killer that worried about elderly ladies and helpless animals. Still, it puzzles me.
Paladin : I'm sure I don't want to talk to you. I may have some business with the man who tells you what to fetch, and what to carry.

Ben Tyler : You got a roundabout way of asking for trouble.
Hey Boy : Anyway, what do you care? You're working for me, not Tyler.

Paladin : We just concluded our agreement.

Hey Boy : All right, then forget it.

Paladin : N, I think I'll take a room in the hotel and wait for the trial.
Hey Boy : Consider yourself sworn in by a proper authority. Here's badge in case you need it.

Paladin : Well, now, anything I acquire that easily can't have much value.

[He tosses the badge onto the desk]
