The UK got to see the first of the episodes not aired in the USA on ITV4 on 5th October 2006. It's a shame that this didn't get shown because it showed a remarkable upturn in quality following the last couple of episodes. Frank's looking into the past of Simon, the guy he killed in the pilot episode who's been haunting him ever since. Simon's non-too-keen on this idea and sets about possessing the new boyfriend of Frank's ex-wife Jess, threatening her unless Frank backs off. When Frank tries to protect Jess everyone thinks he just being jealous of his ex's new lover. The truth about Simon turns out to be more complex than we thought. He wasn't just another paedophile, but an undercover cop who was twisted by the job and set about torturing and killing the people he was supposed to be investigating. Then he started killing people who were only suspected of crimes, but were probably innocent. Simon offers to help Frank find his son in return for Frank carrying on the killing. When Frank refuses, Simon goes straight after Jess. If the rest of the show had been like this it might have survived longer because this is tense, scary stuff and much better than a lot of what had gone before.
