Far Fetched Much?

I'm sorry, even for this show, I just couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to get on board. J&J go to Mexico for a little trip and find themselves in the middle of a big assassination conspiracy. First, Max gets them a car in such bad shape that it's ridiculous that they got in it. Then it breaks down (duh) and not only do they find themselves right in front of the bad guy's villa, but they're mistaken for the Mexican hired help with very Mexican names, even though they are clearly well-dressed, well-coiffed Americans with no accent at all whatsoever. Oookie. Next a couple of red herrings, a twist, a horny butler, and then it all works out in the end with a nice glass of wine for the Harts. I totally get the concept of this show is suspend your disbelief and just enjoy it. But their actions were just so out of character and ridiculous that I had a hard time with this one. Still, though, there are parts that were entertaining and enjoyable. J&J look so put-together and timeless, as they often do, especially Jonathan this time around. And I really, REALLY enjoyed Lionel's performance. He's so often in the foil position -- which is, certainly, his purpose, no question; so it's rare to see him in a scene with any real focus. But this one had a scene with him and the always fun Charles Fleischer. Yet another pasty, white American, nice Jewish boy, in the middle of nowhere, Mexico, trying to sell the car abandoned by the Hart's after it broke down that Max, himself, bought them in the first place. It's a small scene, but it's a gem. Just watching him cut thru Fleischer's character's malarkey with ease was a joy to watch. Favorite scene of either of the first two 3rd season eps, hands down. Makes me wanna go seek out his other stuff prior to the blacklist; I'm sure he was excellent.
