Weak later episode

Happy Days was a great show for the first several years. After Ron Howard left,it just was not the same. A whole parade of new characters were introduced after Ron Howard's 'Richie Cunningham' character left. Some of the new characters were good, some were not-so-good,and several of the new characters were seemingly only there to fill space,as they were given nothing to work with. Richie Cunningham's new wife comes to mind as an example. Watching the later episodes today,it is clear that the show was running out of good ideas. So what did they do? They did whatever they could think of to fill the time. Having Joanie and Chachi sing may have been cute the first time, but it gets old fast and it is pretty lame and cringeworthy, for example. This show simply went on too long and the last few years of it really drags down the whole series. They simply stayed on tv far too long.
