- Joanie encounters trouble when she accepts a student teaching job at Patton High.
- Joanie is ecstatic when she learns she has been approved to enter a student teaching agreement. Howard and Marion, however, become gravely concerned when they learn Joanie will be teaching at Patton High, a school, despite the best efforts of Roger and Fonzie, that is notorious for poor academics and overall disorder. However, Fonzie convinces everyone that Joanie will do fine. However, the students in Joanie's English class refuse to learn except for one ... a student named Frankie. Frankie asks Joanie for help on an upcoming assignment and she agrees. However, she is unaware that Frankie has sinister ulterior motives. After an attempt to get at her at home fails (the others quickly become wise to him and kick him out), Frankie makes his move on Joanie in an empty classroom. The fire alarm goes off, and everyone except Frankie leaves. Before Joanie can leave, Frankie locks the door, corners his teacher and tries to kiss her against her will. Just then, Fonzie barges in and runs Frankie off. Fonzie is left to console a shaken Joanie, who is sure her teaching career has ended before it began. However, Fonzie convinces her nothing that happened was her fault, and that during her career she will have to deal with "students" (i.e., hoodlums) whose only reason for going to school is starting trouble.—Brian Rathjen <briguy_52732@yahoo.com>
