Storyline

Newcomer Vicky Jeffries has taken over the preparations for the annual Lochdubh Festival. She's insisting that the entire celebration be traditional and has arbitrarily overruled several of the committee members whose choices had been included for many years. When she begins to receive threats - dead crows nailed to the wall and threatening letters - Hamish isn't quite sure where to start. Lachlan McCrae is the first one he visits since Vicky made him stop the demolition of what she considered a heritage building but if truth be told, half of the village would happily be rid of her. Hamish has become friendly with her husband, Paul Jeffries, who writes Hamish's favorite western paperback novels under a pseudonym. They spend some time together but an autographed copy of his book proves to be quite revealing. Written by garykmcd
