In an episode that features Newly, we have a Indian women and a wanted man's child that has come down with measles. The man, Lew Harrod, goes into Dodge to get the doc. Only problem is that Doc Adams is out of town and Newly volunteers to have a look at the young baby.
There is a conflict between the Indian wife, Makesha, and her husband, Lew, concerning about what is best for the baby. Makesha want to hold onto the old ways and take the baby back to see the medical man at the tribe. While Lew wants to go back into town for medicine that could save the baby.
Newly also has a conflict between an oath that a doctor would take and his duty as Deputy Marshal after finding out that Lew is wanted for murder in another area. And with these two conflict we get a plot between the old ways of the tribe and the new ways of a lawman.
The story was mildly interesting but failed miserably with the actors. Sam Groom that played Lew talked like he cared but looked preoccupied in most of the scenes. Alexandra Morgan that played Makesha was uncomfortable playing the Indian women. But when you learn that this was her first acting gig, then you can understand the over-played scenes. Even Buck Taylor seemed over-his-head as he tried to hold the entire story together.
This was a good story that lost all interest in production.
