There was something bizarrely wrong with this episode in the long running, otherwise pretty good, if not great (at times) series?
My first guess was, the atypical usage of theatrical presentations of how "screwy" the "Wild West" was, usually done for the purpose of making sure everyone knows how terrible white people and the whole idea of the United States were/are/is, for having "stolen" the native American's land? The two main characters in this one, being men, were dreamed up from some warped idea of a writer/directer/producer team, who've supposedly been taught by their "Christian" Pa' that killing is inherent and even a central point of logical thinking? As much as eating food is? Killing -- except on Sunday then, is good, even expected . . . in the Christian faith? Didn't you know that silly? If your daddy or someone, didn't teach you this one right out of the Bible, then you're the "weird" one. But why not Sundays? Simple. "That" is the extent, rather, the methodology of the sublime-ness of this episode. It was one more stab in the back to Christianity that Gunsmoke became the standard barer of the deed that was done so sublimely at times, even ardent Christian viewers had no idea they and their Savior were just slapped in the face, mocked to the whole nation, and repeatedly displayed as every single thing that was only and always, evil. Never once, did this program exhibit a gentle Spirit of Christian character the way MOST traditional Christians, REALLY ARE. It was always, a wife beating, child beating, drunken hypocrite, sober hypocrite, killing hypocrite, did I mention wife beating, um, hypocrite? This one, was so sublime in slapping Christianity, it should have won an award for one of the most objectionable lies ever disseminated without notice? And understand, these anomalies were never for the faithful viewers consumption? NO. . . This is done, even today, for the consumption of those who yet don't know or understand how to read the Word of God. And we know it worked perfectly, because, in case you haven't noticed, everything that liberals accuse "traditional Christians" of today, is EXACTLY what Hollywood portrayed them as in MANY of this episodic entertainment propagandizing works such as this. And yet, I say, this was at times, "a great show" and it was. See how tolerant we can be? I do so mainly because it had no foul language and no sex. Of course, that's probably because it's sole purpose was to mock Christianity with their subliminal messages. Here's a fun fact for ya. Oh wait, there's nothing fun about it. The shows fourth-in-line star: "Kitty" - Amanda Blake, was killed by her bi-sexual/homosexual, adulterating husband, in what would later be recognized as the signifying method of transmission from what was once a homosexual-only disease, into the general population. Aside from the roughly 1-2 percent of transmission by dirty needles, healthcare setting mishaps, transgender prostitutes, and not counting that the entire hemophiliac population was killed off by tainted blood products, the bulk, 98 plus percent of the people killed by AIDS, are at the hands of bisexual would be husbands, adulterating husbands, and boy friends, to deceived and lied to women like Amanda Blake, who, was of course, overly forgiving to her killer adulterating, homosexual husband for this. Christianity has been forgiving to the nth degree, as Kitty was and for this characteristic of Christian behavior, Hollywood, liberal media and their political party (demmunists) rewards us with decade after decade of FALSIFIED characterizations of Christians and Christianity? Likewise, with "their falsified versions" of what Christians "ought to act like" according to their Godless version(s) of faith?
