A mildly humorous episode like this is mainly a matter of taste. A holiday entry, it was run right after New Year 1957. Crippled old coot Puckett (Stehli) is left to freeze on the prairie by cruel partner Larner (Withers). Instead, he's rescued by Dillon and Chester, who take him back to town. There, he's ornery as ever, swearing revenge against his former partner. Now Matt's got his hands full trying to restore the old man's stubborn pride before he gets into real trouble.
Nothing much to remark on: holiday episodes were supposed to be lighter fare. Puckett's not very likable, but we respect his obstinate independence. In passing maybe the best acting is Arness and Weaver pretending it's a cold Kansas day when it really looks like a hot day in LA. I hope they got paid double.
