The three roughneck Dolans are letting their cattle poach grass from their neighbor the Mossmans, father and son. Old man Mossman confronts the troublemakers but is outmanned since his son doesn't believe in fighting. From there, there the trouble escalates since the greedy Dolans want their neighbor's land.
Solid entry with two of TV's best hard-heads facing off Leo Gordon (Hutch Dolan) and John Hoyt (Jeff Mossman). They lend the dramatics a persuasive air. Hard to figure out whether Pete Mossman is a coward or a principled pacifist, Anyway, he does take a lot of verbal and physical abuse. Good, rather poignant, ending from writer Meston and director Yarborough. I assume the rather abbreviated title "No Chip' is completed by 'off the old block' and refers to the philosophical difference between the two Mossmans.
