Festus is on the trail of an outlaw in the desert outside Dodge City.
After a shoot out Festus finally kills the outlaw but in the fighting

with thirst. He begins seeing mirages of animals and hearing voice of
people not present. Then near the end of hope someone starts shooting a
Festus. Festus returns fire and kills a man. He also finds the man's
water and horse and is able to bury the body and make it back to
civilization where he is found and brought back to Dodge. The saddle on
the horse advises it belongs to Adam Cleary.
With little facts about the shooting, Matt rides out to the Cleary farm
and advises that Adam was killed by his deputy. The father, Lemuel
Cleary does not understand since his son never carried a gun nor hurt
anybody. There was so many unanswered questions that Matt will
investigate by riding to the town Adam was suppose to travel to buy a
But before Matt can get any facts, Cleary comes in town and kidnaps
Festus taking him back to the Ghost Town. When Festus cannot recall
exactly where the body was buried or find the weapon that was used, Mr
Cleary is going to take an eye for an eye.
Matt has uncovered some information that the dead man is not Adam
Cleary. Will Matt be able to get back to the Ghost Town and save Festus
from the Cleary family and the revenge they want so dearly.
The first part of this episode is rather slow. There is much put into
the script that was nothing more than fluff to kill time. But after the
half, the story picked up interest and became a nice story. If a person
can survive the first half then it was a nice watch- the problem is
that most people will become dissatisfied and lose all interest nor
care about the outcome. This is one show that is average at best.
