Storyline

Luke Dangerfield is shot by a bounty hunter Moses Reedy. Luke's young protégé Austin brings Luke to Dodge City. It turns out that Luke used to live in Dodge before, and now one of his last wishes is to see his daughter Kathy, whom he abandoned (along with her mother) years ago. While searching for Kathy, Austin learns from a saloon girl Doris that Kathy is dead. For $25, Doris agrees to pretend to be Kathy, to appease Austin, and to comfort the dying Luke. Several things happen next: 1. Doc Adams makes Luke well again. 2. The bounty hunter Moses comes to Dodge to collect his bounty. 3. Doris takes genuine liking to Luke. 4. Austin plans an escape and also challenges Moses. 5. Matt steps in. Written by Thomas001

Outlaws last wish is to see his abandon daughter before he dies.
29 November 2012 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

The episode begins as outlaw Luke Dangerfield and his side-kick Austin Keep riding along the outback. Shots ring out from the hill hitting Luke in the back. (we learn later it was a bounty hunter named Moses Reedy) Austin is able to get severely wounded Luke out of harms-way and Luke tells Austin that his last wish is to visit his daughter that he abandoned as a child. She is suppose to be a school teacher in Dodge and her name is Kathy Allen.

While Luke is in bed at the Dodge House, Austin goes to find Kathy. He finds out that she had died and gets a saloon girl, Doris, to pose as the daughter Kathy. Luke gives the saloon girl $300 and ask for forgiveness for not being in her life.

When Doc arrives, he tends to the wounds and believes that Luke is going to survive. Now the scheme of Doris posing as the daughter may backfire. And with Luke getting stronger everyday the charade is getting weaker with each question.

When Moses Reedy comes into Dodge to collect the bounty on Luke, Austin is determined to face him in a duel on the streets of Dodge. Austin sets up a horse for Luke to ride out on and they will catch up in the Indian nation after the gunfight. Luke knows that Austin is not a gunfighter and has to do something to stop his friend from ruining his life- like Luke has ruined his own life.

This is a very nice episode that was entertaining to the end. Morgan Woodward is always at his best when he plays the tough in westerns and this show even lets his nice side show through. A good show to watch.
