Trivia

This episode was supposed to be the original Season 1 finale but ABC ended with 1x09 "Who's Zoomin' Who?" They wanted the show to end alongside Desperate Housewives so added the planned last five episodes of Season 1 to the beginning of Season 2 instead. See more »

Goofs

In 'Bring the Pain', when Alex and George are in the elevator waiting for Burke to come back, you briefly see the opening to the lift dressed with the blue paper and two nurses in the background. When the camera pans back up a few moments later, the nurses are still there but the papered up opening is not. Nor is it there when Burke finally does reappear with what they need for the open-heart surgery. See more »

Quotes

Dr. Meredith Grey: Pain comes in all forms. The small twinge, a bit of soreness, the random pain. The normal pains we live with everyday. Then there's the kind of pain you can't ignore. A level of pain so great that it blocks out everything else... Makes the rest of your world fade away, until all we can think about is how much we hurt. How we manage our pain is up to us. Pain. We anesthetize , ride it out, embrace it, ignore it, and for some of us the best way to manage pain is to just push through it.

The One With The Elevator Surgery...
26 June 2015 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

I enjoy this episode. It's good and I really like that George finally gets to shine and get away from his 007 stereotype.

In this episode, a storm roles through Seattle, causing massive power outages throughout the city, including Seattle Grace Hospital. While transporting a patient, George, Alex and the patient get trapped in an elevator, and George must perform surgery, as the patient won't last waiting for the power to come back. Meanwhile, Meredith and Derek arrange a religious ritual for a patient.

Overall, I give this episode a 7 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Great.
