When this episode airs on television they insert canned laughter over Mr. Haney's use of the word "wetbacks" whom are smuggled in during the picking season.
This is the second of four appearances on Green Acres of Rick Lenz playing Mr. Douglas' young law partner Brian Williams. The character's first appearance was in The Agricultural Student (1968) eight episodes earlier, as he is just arriving in Hooterville getting off the train, greeted by Hank Kimball. His character in that earlier episode is not named, but mistaken by Kimball for Terry Harper - the man states he is NOT Harper, but doesn't identify himself further. The character is listed in the closing credits only as "young man", yet he is clearly the same Brian Williams in the three future episodes from the same season.
Sam Drucker was once engaged to Brian Williams' aunt, Agatha Toomey. He broke off the engagement because she cheated on him--at checkers. When he'd get up to grab another Moxie, she'd move the pieces.
The coffee Lisa pours for Brian has the consistency of chocolate syrup. When he tries to stir sugar into it, the spoon become stuck.
Eb uses the offensive term "coolies" when he talks about hiring "the coolies" for him to oversee. Coolies: unskilled Chinese or other Asian unskilled laborers.
