Storyline

Under the guise of being paid for working for Ron, Gary gives Yvonne money earned by taking items from 1941 and selling them to a record collector. Yvonne has become the leading lady in the Willesden Players but Gary objects to her doing a love scene with the leading man and invalids him out so that he can take his place. He scores a big hit in 1941, too, when he enters a talent contest and gains an agent, Mr. Wix, who wants to send him on tour. Written by don @ minifie-1

Quotes

[first lines]
Ron: Hullo.
Gary: Hi.
Ron: And to what do I owe the pleasure?
Gary: Well, it's, uh... it's a bit embarrassing, really. See, it's the end of the month on Friday, and Yvonne thinks I'm working for you, so... she's going to want to see some wages.
Ron: Huh. What a quaint old-fashioned notion. Wages you can actually see. I know, you tell her you're working for me on a commission-only basis, and you're crap; she'll believe that.
