JJ the numbers runner
18 December 2016 | by (Youngstown,Ohio) – See all my reviews

"JJ's New Career" concludes with JJ having to make excuses about his new job running numbers to his family, and Florida in particular. They think he's working in the art department of a big advertising agency. What he doesn't know is that his buddies aren't just involved in gambling but also drugs and prostitution. His extravagance arouses Florida's suspicions, and her dissatisfaction with his answers has her kicking him out of the house. A police bust finally shows JJ just what his friends have been up to, barely able to keep out of sight to seek his mother's forgiveness. Chip Fields later did four episodes as Linella Gordon, an abusive mother who abandons daughter Penny to become adopted by Willona.
