A tough time for The Leadbetters
Scaramouche200419 August 2006
Warning: Spoilers
With Margo's big performance as Maria in the Sound of Music, looming nearer, she seems unable to think of anything else, especially as the performance is so 'cheap and nasty' and everything is going wrong.

Jerry has problems of his own however as 'Sir' has asked him and his wife to accommodate a dutch delegate on the very weekend of the performance. For once Jerry refuses 'Sirs' request in favour of putting his wives big day first, to find to his horror that 'Sir' responds by giving poor Jerry a months notice.

Unable to find another job he finds solace in helping Margo prepare for her performance, but when that also turns out to be a disaster, it hits home just what is at stake and what dire straights the Leadbetters find themselves in.

Tom and Barbara must come to their rescue. They invite 'Sir' to dinner with the proposal that if he reinstated Jerry, Tom would accept the much offered freelance work in spite of his beliefs. A selfless act for his friend and neighbour.

One of the few episodes which focus almost entirely on Margo and Jerry and a welcome return for Reginald Marsh as 'Sir'
