Trivia

The title is a parody of the song "Yes! We Have No Bananas" by Frank Silver and Irving Cohn from the 1922 Broadway revue "Make It Snappy" sung by Eddie Cantor. See more »

Goofs

In a dialogue between Rose and Dorothy about the "Three Rs" in education, Rose asks Dorothy if she means "Reading, Writing, and Rooster Insemination," inferring that this skill is necessary for farmers. It seems the writers here used literary license in the absence of another "R" task on a farm. Roosters are always male, which begs the question of why inseminating male roosters would be a necessary skill to learn on a farm. See more »

Quotes

Dorothy Petrillo-Zbornak: [taking roll in the night class she's teaching, Dorothy discovers that Rose is on the list] Rose, what are you doing here?
Rose Nylund: Dorothy, I have a confession to make. I slipped through the cracks of the St Olaf school system.

Rose Nylund: It's true. You're looking at a woman without a sheepskin.
Jim Shu: [the Asian man sitting behind Rose overhears] I've got an extra in my wallet I could give you.
Rose Nylund: [shyly] No thanks, I'd rather ...

Yes, We Have No Havanas (#4.1)
20 January 2014 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Blanche is dating an older man and later finds out that he is dating Sophia as well. The two continue dating him while having rivalry issues until he dies. And Dorothy is teaching an adult history class and Rose is taking it because she never got her diploma, only she is really bad at it.

It was fun to see Sophia and Blanche having rivalry over a man, they usually don't seem to get the same guys. Only Sophia was too kind to him at the funeral.

And I was all confused by why Rose thought that Hitler was her former history teacher, still got to laugh about it
