There Goes the Bride: Part 2 (#6.17)

Warning: Spoilers
The wedding planning is in progress. There are rehearsals and writing vows. Blanche interviews a new roommate and ends up choosing one that is very much like her. At the wedding Sophia arrives as well to be there with Dorothy. But the wedding fails as Stan asks Dorothy to sign a prenuptial agreement.

I don't really like how they ended the story of Stan and Dorothy. I was sure they won't get married as there is still a season ahead but I was looking forward to what will happen. But a prenup, really? What is so wrong about one. Must be the attitude from 25 years ago, it is an outdated reason now.

But it was still a fun episode, that had many great moments.

Warning: Spoilers
It takes some convincing, but Sophia finally comes around towards Stanley and Dorothy remarrying, even if she is a bit cynical over the whole thing. It's with good reason too as Stan has a demand that Dorothy isn't willing to accept. Meanwhile, the girls deal with the possibilities of a new roommate and it's none other than Debbie Reynolds, someone who would obviously have given Blanche a run for her money as far as man craziness is concerned. She's very funny, but being a mid-season episode, you would still have a few more to go before Arthur would be able to leave had she not re-signed for another year. The return of Raye Birk as the caterer isn't as laugh out loud funny in regard to the number of his lines, but the quality of the lines that he does have are hysterical especially the way he delivers them. Then there's the appearance of Meg Wyllie, the adorable old character actress who obviously had some influence on being asked back by producers of various shows to play new roles. This was one of four on "Golden Girls", just as her three on "General Hospital" and two on "Designing Women" are equally as remembered. Real life powerful attorney Marvin Mitchelsen plays himself in a cameo.
