Rose's addiction to winning!
11 May 2015 | by (victoria b.c canada) – See all my reviews

Everyone but Sophia is entering the bowling tournament. Rose is tired of being Blanche's partner and dumps her. After Sophia turns down Dorothy's offer to join her, Rose opportunistically asks Dorothy to be her partner. Rose's competitive spirit gets out of control and she dumps Dorothy as well. Sophia wants to borrow money from Dorothy to go on a trip with a former love interest, Augustine Bagatelli. After Dorothy says no, Sophia decides to be Rose's partner and they make a bet. If Sophia's team wins, Sophia gets to go on the trip. If Dorothy wins, Dorothy gets something very precious of Sophia's. I've never been a big fan of bowling, so this was completely silly to me. That being said, this is a really fun episode. It was really unusual, but interesting to see Rose play somebody that is nefarious and shady. Her obsession with winning added a very good dynamic to this episode. She was incorrigible at times! Credit to Betty White for pulling it off. There are genuine laughs with heartwarming moments. Seeing Sophia in love was cute and I enjoyed her romantic storyline. Estelle Getty steals many scenes she's in with some of her stuff. Blanche's sassy attitude was great as well. Dorothy pulls a stunt at the end that will make you smile. She really has a hidden heart of gold. If you like Golden Girls, you'll enjoy this episode.

By the way....Sophia's spaghetti sauce looked delicious! It made me crave spaghetti
