Dorothy's son Michael is twenty-two years old in season three. When Sophia and Dorothy reminisce Brooklyn, NY, 1954, Dorothy asks Sophia to babysit her children, one of whom is Michael. Sophia refuses, so Dorothy says "I'll just leave them with Stan's mother." They talk about Michael screaming when Stan's mother was watching over them. If Michael was a baby in the fifties, he should be in his thirties in season three. See more »

Anna: [Rose meets an old woman in the rural bus station] Excuse me, are you waiting for the bus to Northern Falls?
Rose Nylund: No, St Olaf.
Anna: I've visited there. Lovely little town.
Rose Nylund: Oh yes, yes it is.
Anna: Rolling hills, charming homes...
Rose Nylund: Yes.
Anna: Full of idiots.
Rose Nylund: [slow to realise what Anna has just said] Yes... What?
Anna: I never saw anything like it. Must be the water.
Rose Nylund: [politely offended] I grew up in St Olaf. And most of my family still lives there.

Mother's Day (#3.25)
20 January 2014 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

It is mother's day and the girls are getting ready to go to a restaurant. While they are waiting for the calls from their children they remember some stories from mother's days they had. Dorothy remembers the one when her and Stan went to Stan's mother to ask for money. Rose remembers when she was waiting at the bus station to go to her kids with an older lady who was visiting the grave of her daughter. And Sophia remembers the one when they convinced her mother to move in with her and her husband.

Rose's story is the best, I had tears in my eyes watching the ending. Such a sweet, emotional story well fitting to Rose's character. It was also great to see Dorothy playing Sophia's mom. Too bad there was no story from Blanche, but at least she got a call as well!
