Did You Know?

After the two transportation people get Blanche to move over on the gurney. They move her out of the room and down the hall with the side rail on the side she transferred over. Still down. This is something that's not done in a hospital setting. The rails of the cart, gurney, or bed are supposed to be up unless a patient is being ambulated. And definitely, when that patient is being transported. Falls are a huge problem in hospitals. And serious steps are always a part of patient care. See more »

Dorothy Petrillo Zbornak: Blanche's doctor wants her to go back to the hospital for more tests.
Rose Nylund: It makes sense, just to be on the safe side.
Dorothy Petrillo Zbornak: Oh, well, of course it does. What kind of doctor would he be if he didn't want to check out everything.
Blanche Devereaux: [very nervous] Yeah, well, if it makes him happy. If everything's as bad as he thinks it is, he wants to put a pacemaker in me.
Sophia Petrillo: Everybody's got a nickname for it.

Blanche is getting some issues, the doctor wants to monitor her heart and she gets a pace maker installed. She gets all the support from her friends but she is also worried about it and decides to give up on sex. When she breaks up with her boyfriend he tries to make her reasonable and goes for the last kiss. And then she realizes that there isn't much different.

Another good approach to a health issue of the age. According to the character many people over 50 have them. But they really touch a good point that when one has to start doing it it gets especially scary.

And the funny part was Rose's "Lullaby", which is the WW1 song "over there".
