From Here to the Pharmacy (#7.11)
ComedyFan201025 February 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Blanche gets a call from soldier who returned from the war. She doesn't remember him but feels bad to say it because as they go out on a date he tells her that he has been thinking about her waiting for him all this time. Next day he comes with a rose and she finds out that he now works in a pharmacy.

A pretty good episode. The scene when Blanche meets the soldier for the first time is greatly done and acted I was laughing all the time when Blanche had no clue who he is, just like in the restaurant. Was just surprising that him being a pharmacist was a turn off for her at first, pharmacist is a good profession these days, people study a long time and make a lot of money in it

Another relationship for Blanche whom we'll never hear about again.

Warning: Spoilers
Bruce Kirby guest stars as an old flame (whom Blanche doesn't seem to remember), fresh from active duty as an Army officer, and when Blanche finds out that he's taking a job as a neighborhood pharmacist, she begins to question if she really cares about him. She has to learn that being a hero doesn't involve excitement and adventure, and sometimes just being a hero means helping your neighbor. It would be nice if we saw this guy again, but like so many before, he'll simply go into the vault of Blanche's memory book. Then there's Sophia, having Rose make her well, and roses accidentally exposing the fact that she has $35,000 in the bank which greatly upset stories because she's struggled for years to take care of her mother. There are some very funny moments, especially when Sophia visits the pharmacy and gets into a fight over the last tube of Preparation H and Rose's story of her fighting over the farmhouse with a cow that she won, and especially the fate of that cow. Silly yes, but quiet amusing, and the relationship with Dorothy and her mother is profound to watch here.

Hulu put the missing episode of Dorothy's son marrying an older black woman back in rotation. It's episode 3;23.
