In this episode Lorlei convinces Rory to participate together in the annual 24 hour dance marathon. Towards the end of this episode Dean breaks up with Rory because she continually talks about Jess. In the end, Kirk wins the dance marathon as he usually has for the past few years. I personally thought this was one of the best episodes of Gilmore Girls because this is the end of Dean and Rory's relationship but it's the beginning of Jess and Rory's relationship. Also, in this episode Dave makes Lane's mom like him at little more by talking about going to church and being Christian and this makes Lane love him all the more.
