Gideon learns from a dying woman that businessman John Borgman is guilty of killing his wife. When a clerk working at Borgman's office is accused of fraud, Gideon has an opportunity to investigate him.

Wow, this is one complex story, so many plot twists, so many twists, considering this is just about fifty minutes long, there is so much here, it could easily have been a mess, but it's cohesive and very neat.

The opening sequences are well staged, and definitely get your attention.

I think this was my favourite episode so far, I really did enjoy the complexity of the storyline.

John Borgman is as smooth as silk, but nasty and smarmy, you can imagine Gideon would have loved to put him away.

A nicely assembled cast including Glyn Houston and Patsy Smart, I thought Walter Brown was excellent as the villainous Borgman.

Excellent, 9/10.

Gideon goes after philandering businessman John Borgman.

He was suspected of killing his first wife but there was no evidence.

Until a woman injured in a car accident gives a deathbed confession.

Gideon is determined to get Borgman. He finds a way in when Borgman's own bookkeeper is accused of stealing from the firm and later kills himself.

Walter Brown really relishes playing Borgman. He is a nasty piece who is confident that his money and influence will keep him out of jail. In fact there are several unsavoury types in this story, all motivated by money.

The episode gets bogged down in court proceedings. Superintendent Fred Lee is nervous that Borgman's barrister will walk all over him during the cross examination.

You would think the police had never done a criminal court case before. Lee is on the defensive until he gets an opportunity to strike.
