- Uncle Arnold: Listen, business can wait. The show must go on. Those kids are gonna have a party that they'll remember for at least ten, twelve minutes.
- Capt. Daniel Gregg: It's yar, very yar.
- Jonathan Muir: Yar?
- Capt. Daniel Gregg: That means quick to the helm, mate, sleek and sensitive to the touch, ready and agile in any squall.
- Jonathan Muir: But is it good?
- Capt. Daniel Gregg: Yar means very good.
- Jonathan Muir: Oh, like groovy.
- Capt. Daniel Gregg: Groovy?
- Carolyn Muir: Now I understand why all these years I never saw him but for a day or two at a time. It was because he was afraid - afraid of wearing out his welcome.
- Capt. Daniel Gregg: With very good reason, madam. Some of Uncle Arnold's jokes were told to me by my grandfather - and I've been dead for a hundred years.
- Uncle Arnold: And now, two eggs. You can do this trick with milk but it's better with eggs. I like to crack yokes.
- Uncle Arnold: Don't be discouraged, kids. If at first you don't succeed, keep trying - and make a real fool of yourself.
