Jakey goes A.W.O.L.!
Yonilikka-2213 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Jakey gets a letter from his mother informing him that his grandfather is facing eviction from his flat because he cannot pay his rent. Angered, Jakey decides to sort the landlord out, and, when his request for compassionate leave is turned down by Flight-Lt. Grant ( David Quilter does not appear in this episode ), Jakey decides to go A.W.O.L. and gets Ken to cover for him. He meets 'Grandad' ( Paul Curran ) and finds out that his mother was exaggerating when she wrote her letter. Jakey's main problem now is how to get back to camp without anyone noticing he's been gone...

An okay episode. Not much for Marsh to do, except proudly display his new car ( which looks like it was built at the same time as Noah's Ark ). He gives Jakey a lift back to camp, and to his credit never once reports him.

Funniest moment - Ken's conversation with the R.A.F. Police Sergeant ( Brian Grellis ). Ken is on the phone to Jakey, who is pretending to be Ken's mother. As Ken says goodbye and prepares to hang up, the Sergeant barks: "Go on! Tell her you love her!". He then shows Ken a picture of his own mother ( its actually Grellis in a wig! ).
