Pretty funny episode has Murray Matheson as a club owner who is secretly a member of KAOS. He plans to capture Smart, hypnotize him and then have him kill the Chief. Only one problem: despite their best efforts, KAOS cannot get Smart to escape. He turns away opportunity after opportunity, suspecting a trap. Finally Smart does get away and he and the Chief get in the game of chess that KAOS hopes will mean the end of them both.
The escape sequence is a classic. Not so much the weak joke used on the "Cone of Silence" in this one, and there's precious little of Barbra Feldon as 99. But still an amusing episode and Adams is at his best.
