The Avengers
9 April 2008 | by (Argentina) – See all my reviews

Hymie's back and CONTROL's got him. Snead (John Orchard) and Mrs. Neal (Lyn Peters) are KAOS' answer to the Avengers Stead and Emma Peel. They are part of KAOS' CAD division (Controlled Accidents Division) and are trying to sabotage US athletes from competing in track and field. After Max fails to stop them, the Chief puts Hymie in charge. But even he can't protect the athletes and ends up competing in the games himself.

Dick Gautier is once again terrific and very convincing as Hymie. He and Adams have a wonderful relationship and great chemistry together as Max resents having Hymie in charge. When Hymie competes in the games, he does so while wearing a suit and a tie. He jumps 9 feet from a standing position, throws a discus completely out of the stadium, then competes in a foot race.

Orchard and Peters are also very strong and memorable as the Avenger-like duo. Their impressions are spot on. It would have been nice to see them back some time.
