Jonathan Harris, who plays the Bulmanian Ambassador, co-starred with Don Adams on The Bill Dana Show.
The Ambassador, played by Jonathan Harris, has an assistant named Zachary. Jonathan Harris played Dr. Zachary Smith on the TV series Lost in Space.
The country of Bulmania does not exist. The name is most likely a linguistic blending of words, called a portmanteau word, of the names of the countries of Bulgaria and Romania. At the time this episode aired in 1970, Bulgaria and Romania were communist countries aligned with the Soviet Union.
This episode's guest star Jonathan Harris in an episode of his own series at that time Lost in Space (1965) (titled Ghost in Space (1966)), in the character of Dr. Zachary Smith states his belief that the unseen invisible alien whose presence terrifies him is the haunting ghost of his long-dead Uncle Thaddeus. In an episode of this series (The Day Smart Turned Chicken (1965)), "Thaddeus" is revealed to be the actual first name of the Chief of Control (Edward Platt). In the potential occurrence of a cross-over of the two series, it is therefore plausible that the Chief is Dr. Smith's departed uncle.
