It's an interesting thing. I guess I should read some background on this show because the more I watch, the more confused I get. In this episode, there's mentions of trucks backfiring and watching movies. I assumed these episodes took place at the time most of the others took place - around the 1860's or so. But I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps these episodes are more a episode-by-episode character/time then a series wide case.
Whatever the case, Gene's singing is still grand,Pat's goofs are still funny, and the case of right and wrong is still clear cut. It's hard to believe how much the TV industry will change in just a couple years! I think these nonsense shows have their place, but I like the more serious westerns myself (Bonanza, Rifleman, and Gunsmoke)
