- Narrator: [Closing Narration. Viewers see Richard Kimble walking down a country back road after having been dropped off from a ride] Some break the law, others are broken by it. But Richard Kimble continues his endless quest, pursued by the law he respects, a fugitive from the justice he seeks.
- Lt. Philip Gerard: [First lines] Sergeant Tobias?
- Sgt. Tobias: That's right.
- Lt. Philip Gerard: Lt. Gerard.
- Sgt. Tobias: Indiana's a long way, Lieutenant. I wish we could have delivered the man we promised.
- Lt. Philip Gerard: Yeah, so do I. Any new developments?
- Sgt. Tobias: Last report was about 8:45 this morning. Kimble was going to work at the stock yards, saw the arresting officers and took off.
- Charley Judd: [talking to his fiancée about Richard Kimble] His reward's gonna pay for our wedding. We just got a couple of things to do before we collect, that's all.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Have a happy wedding, Miss McElvey.
- Charley Judd: Pay no attention to him, honey. He's a sore loser.
- Laura McElvey: I wish to heaven you'd never come to this town.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: [with a sigh and an ironic tone] I am sorry I complicated things for you.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: You sell yourself short; you deserve more.
- Laura McElvey: Mr. Kimble, do you think you're in a position to pass judgment on him?
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Not on him, on you.
- Laura McElvey: Charley, I had to let him go.
- Charley Judd: [furious; slaps her] You had to let him go! What are you talking about, you had to let him go? That don't make sense, Laura. You know what he's doing in there? Right now? He's trying to get my badge taken away from me. He's going to send me to jail!
- Laura McElvey: That's why I let Kimble go, Charley. I did it for you!
- Charley Judd: What do you mean, you did it for me? You are a used-up old maid who couldn't do nothing for nobody. Now start talking sense.
- Laura McElvey: I did it for you. Don't you understand? Don't you understand, Gerard doesn't have a case. Without Kimble he doesn't have any witnesses. Charley, I did it for you.
- Charley Judd: You see, Lieutenant, you got no witnesses.
- Laura McElvey: You're wrong, Charley. I'm going to be an old maid. But they make excellent witnesses. I'll testify, Lieutenant Gerard.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: If it's any consolation to you, Charlie's not going to grab the reward and disappear.
- Laura McElvey: What are you talking about?
- Dr. Richard Kimble: There's no reward.
- Laura McElvey: Of course there's a reward. That's why Charlie went through all this.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: What about you?
- Laura McElvey: Because Charlie wanted me to. And Charlie's what I want.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Charlie is a great gambler.
- Laura McElvey: What do you mean?
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Well, he did gamble. His reward against your life.
