Kimble continues on his journey over the mountains with Sister Veronica. Meanwhile Sheriff Kenyon steps up his pursuit. Sister Veronica helps Kimble avoid a variety of troubles.
Kimble is disturbed to learn that the purpose of Sister Veronica's trip is to resign from being a nun.
Kimble has renewed trouble with Chuck, leading to Kimble winning a fight, and gaining the sympathy of Chuck's sister-in-law Janet, an attractive widow played by actress Ruta Lee. When Kimble's photo appears on TV and on the front page of the newspaper, Janet and Sister Veronica must reassess their opinions of him, while Chuck sees it as the perfect opportunity for revenge. Kimble has little more than divine providence to protect him from capture.
