Wills back when he was a solo circus owner. According to Japanese custom these
two are 'adopted' by Wills.
They have a lot of trouble fitting in, especially since Kobayashi is so deferential to Marno and does all the manual labor . The women and most of the men are mad at Marno, but his sister in the traditional Japanese way is deferential to the extreme.
It all works out in a sort of roundabout fashion and Marno takes a few lumps. It's an enjoyable story.
