With one and only appearance and a very notable one, in this episode, Joey's parents have made the least appearances on the show out of all the other friends' parents. All others have made more than a single appearance.

Phoebe's mother Phoebe Abbott makes three appearances in "The One At The Beach" (S3:E25), "The One With The Jellyfish" (S4:E1) and The One With Phoebe's Uterus (S4:E11); whilst her father Frank Buffay appears in "The One With Joey's Bag" (S5:E13).

Chandler's mother Nora Tyler Bing appears in "The One With Mrs. Bing" (S1:E11) and also in a flashback in "The One With All The Thanksgivings" (S5:E8), whilst his cross-dressing father Helena Handbasket is seen in "The One With Chandler's Dad" (S7:E22). Both appear in "The One With Monica and Chandler's Wedding" (S7:E23/24) and Nora also appears in "The One After "I Do"" (S8:E1).

Rachel's mother Sandra Green makes three appearances in "The One With The Lesbian Wedding" (S2:E11), "The One With Two Parties" (S2:E22) and "The One With The Baby Shower" (S8:E20); her father Leonard Green also appears in "The One With Two Parties", and makes three subsequent appearances in "The One With The Race Car Bed" (S3:E7), "The One With The Stripper" (S8:E8) and "The One Where Joey Speaks French" (S10:E13).

Rachel's father is the last of the friends' parents to make an appearance on the show. See more »

When they're all sitting together and having pizza, talking about their parents, Rachel has no napkin. When she says "Just think, in a couple of years we get to turn into them", a bunched up napkin appears beside her on the couch. After Chandler's remark, it has disappeared again only to reappear again between shots. See more »

My Favourite Episode Of Season One
23 November 2014 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

After meeting both Ross and Monica's parents and then Chandlers mother earlier in the first season, it's Joeys turn to have his parents turn up.

Plot In A Paragraph: Joey's Dad is in town and a secret is revealed that troubles Joey. Pheobe is dating a psychiatrist who managed to upset almost the entire group by analysing them. And Rachel is furious when Chandler accidentally sees her boobs.

My favourite episode of the first season so far. The whole "tit for tat" running joke was very funny.

We also see some serious bonding when they share a bed.

I enjoyed Fisher Stevens as Roger, Pheobe's boyfriend. And really feel they could have kept him round a bit longer. Robert Costanzo is fun as Joey's Dad, Lee Garlington was OK as Ronnie and Brenda Vaccaro as fine as Gloria Tribbiani.
