Cathy the Realtor

Joey earned too much money to keep hiding it, so Monica suggests investing in real estate, such as Richard's apartment for sale; Chandler accompanies him, and they find a videotape marked Monica... After some coaching from slick ideal daughter in law Rachel, Phoebe has her first dinner with boyfriend Mike's classy parents and some boring acquaintances, but despite a phony British accent she's too much herself not to shock and disgust, yet Mike sticks with her, and more... Ross is the first to get baby daughter Emma to really laugh, but Rachel is shocked to hear he did it by singing a saucy rap about big buttocks; nevertheless, she's more envious... Did You Know?

Although Tom Selleck's character, Richard, is very important to the plot of this episode, he does not appear. See more »

Years earlier, Richard had revealed to Monica that he had only ever slept with 2 women - Monica and his ex-wife. Here, Richard is portrayed as having videotaped himself having sex with at least 2 women, Monica and another unnamed woman, and it can be safely assumed by the characters' reactions that these were not meant to be construed as isolated incidents. It is unlikely that the character of Richard would have gone from being rather old-fashioned sexually to someone who regularly videotapes his sexual dalliances. See more »

Rachel Greene: Take it from me. Mothers love me. Ross' mom actually said that I'm like the daughter that she never had.
Monica Geller-Bing: She said WHAT?
Phoebe Buffay: That she's like the daughter that she never had. Listen.

The One Where Phoebe Meets Mike's Parents...
1 June 2015 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

I love this episode. It's so funny. My favorite "segment" of the episode is the way Phoebe acts around Mike's parents.

In this episode, Phoebe meets Mike's parents, but is very nervous. She puts on an accent and pretends to be "upscale". Mike's parents don't approve but Mike doesn't care because he loves Phoebe. Awww! Meanwhile, Ross sings Baby Got Back to Emma to make her giggle and smile, but when Rachel finds out, she is furious. Until she herself sings the song to make Emma laugh. And whilst in Richard's apartment, because he's selling it, Joey and Chandler find a tape marked Monica, and they think it's a sex tape. When they watch it, and Monica walks in, they discover that it's not Monica, and that Richard had taped over her.

Overall, I give this episode a 9 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Amazing.
