Almost caught once again, Chandler arrives with champagne for Monica, but instead finds the whole gang in her apartment so he says he is celebrating that his office just got wrinkle free fax paper. Joey thinks he has been hired as host for a PBS telethon, but is actually just one of many phone operators on screen. Phoebe says she hates PBS because it reminds her of the miserable days when her mother watched Sesame Street on it before committing suicide and even bitches Joeys telethon is selfishness masquerading as a good deed. When he retorts there is no such thing as a truly selfless good deed, she promises to prove him wrong. Ross tries to make up with Emily by phone and when she asks him to move to London he says no as he would be away from Ben. Emily agrees to move to New York but on the condition he won't see Rachel any more. The others consider her request to be unreasonable and after struggling to decide Ross becomes desperate enough to leave the decision to a Magic 8 ball ... Written by KGF Vissers

Did You Know?

Helen Baxendale (Emily) became pregnant between seasons 4 and 5 and was unable to travel to the US to do any filming for season 5. As a result her only appearances were heavily swaddled in bed clothes, and she had to be written out of the series a lot earlier than intended. See more »

The One Where Phoebe Hates PBS
11 August 2011 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Monica is annoying in this episode once again. So Chandler finds out that he was the best sex she ever had and is very happy about it. but Monica of course can't handle the fact that someone is happy about a compliment. She can only stop being such a nasty person when he tells her that she is the one who makes him so good, because of course everything is her accomplishment. I wish he never did it

This is also the episode which made everyone hate Emily, because she doesn't want Ross to see Rachel anymore. While it was not the right solution it is very understandable why she would want it. Absolutely nothing wrong with Emily It is very sad though to see how the magic ball tells Ross to stop seeing Rachel and she is all happy because she thinks it is just about her choosing a movie. Or when Ross tells Emily that he will not see Rachel anymore, and Rachel is all happy for him because she doesn't know what it is all about

And there is some fun stuff happening as well as Phoebe tries to find a selfless good deed but it never works out. Her face when Joey tells her that Santa Clause doesn't exist is priceless
