Although in this episode Ross says his birthday is October 18th, in episode 4x05 "The One with Joey's New Girlfriend", when Gunther says he is writing down his friends' birthday dates Ross says his is in December, we don't get to hear which day because he is then interrupted by Gunther See more »
In 5x14 Joey uses the "finger quotes" to tell Rachel Monica and Chandler in the next room "making love", however in 9x02 Joey tells Ross he doesn't know what "finger quotes" mean. See more »
The scene with Ross and Joey at the coffee place is the absolute winner. Whenever I watch it I laugh so much it almost makes me cry. I love Joey's use of quotations, how he convinces Ross to punch him and then gets out of the way so it makes Ross break a thumb, how he then punches him when trying to explain that this was a reflex. Very well written and acted. Gunther's smiling face when Ross is in pain was very amusing as well.
And Chandler was very funny as well. Both how he fells asleep and wakes up holding his coworkers hand. And also how he talks to his boss and this conversation is a total failure because he messes it up so much.
I just didn't like how Monica asks him if he is gay because he likes a musical. I do think that Friends was very good at trying to make homosexuality look like a normal thing that it is. But moments like this are just unnecessary because they promote stereotypes. Why would only gay men like musicals? Why is it not OK for a straight guy to like it?
