- A reporter trails a violent cult of devil worshipers calling people back from the dead.
- A Satanic cult uses an antique, the Coin of Ziocles, to kill three people so that it can resurrect three of the greatest Satanist of all time to bring Satan to Earth. Things go south when one of the people killed is Micki, and Ryan and Jack have to stop the cult without their friend.—Gislef
- At a cemetery, reporter Tom Hewitt watches as two men dig up a grave. Tom takes photos of them and the man supervising them, Sylvan Winters. The gravediggers finally bring up a coffin and carry it off, Sylvan following them. A caretaker comes over and demands to know what they're doing. Sylvan flips an antique coin with a ram's head on it to the caretaker, and it lands on the ground and a burst of magical energy from it strikes the caretaker in the head, killing him and knocking him back into the open grave while leaving a ram's head scar on his forehead. Sylvan recovers the Coin, and Tom takes photos of the entire thing before slipping away.
In the catacombs beneath Sylvan's taxidermy shop, Sylvan leads his followers in a prayer to Satan in the central chamber. Two of the robed followers bring the coffin to the center of a pentagram drawn on the floor, and Sylvan announces that they have gathered to invoke Satan' will. He announces that the body in the coffin, Carl Naft, is the best and strongest of them, and Bob lurks on the balcony above and takes photos.
As Bob records notes to himself on a tape recorder, Sylvan opens the coffin and places the Coin on the corpse's forehead. The Coin glows with magical energy, resurrecting the corpse before disappearing. Sylvan kisses the corpse's extended hand and welcomes him back to the living.
At Curious Goods, Ryan makes a sculpted bust of Micki while she poses for him. Jack serves tea and Ryan gives Micki a break. Micki jokingly assures Ryan that the bust is great, and says that it's a shame that Ryan has a talent but is stuck in the shop not being able to do anything about it. Bob calls asking for Jack, demanding to talk to him, and Micki puts Jack on the line. The reporter tells Jack that he needs his help, and got Jack's name from the "morgue" at his newspaper. They said that Jack is an expert on witchcraft, and says that he left an envelope in a locker at Union Station. There is a key taped to the wall behind the lockers, and Bob tells Jack to get it but that he can't talk any longer. Bob says that he saw a man come back from the dead and hangs up.
As Bob leaves the payphone, Sylvan and his followers grab the reporter and drag him off.
Jack goes to the station with Ryan, and tells Micki to stay there in case Bob calls back again.
In the catacombs, Bob wakes up and Sylvan confronts him. The devil worshipper tells Bob that they've known for months that he's been spying on them. Bob says that he almost has enough evidence to prove that Sylvan's cult has sacrificed babies and children, and Sylvan angrily says that "Bob's kind" has hunted and prosecuted them for centuries. Sylvan says that their brother Naft was driven to his death eight months ago, and he is the first of three that will return from their graves. Naft has great skill in calling spirits, and Sylvan has found the two remaining corpse: Cameron Tiriel and Witch Hiberia, Queen of Salem. Together they will call Satan to Earth to regain his throne.
At the station, Ryan gets the key and uses it to open the nearby locker.
The followers take Tom outside, and Sylvan says that he's found a way to bring corpses back to life.
Jack and Ryan return to the shop and show Micki Tom's envelope. There are photos of the worshippers' ceremony and the tape of Tom's notes, and a roll of undeveloped film. There are also clippings of Naft's death: he was a stockbroker in life. They play the recording of Sylvan's invocation, and Jack confirms that it's the Lord's Prayer recited backward: an opening prayer in a black mass.
Sylvan and the gravediggers take Tom to the cemetery, and Sylvan kills Tom with the Coin. Sylvan and the gravediggers then leave with the Coin.
The next day, Jack tells the cousins that Tom is dead according to the newspaper, along with the caretaker. According to the newspaper, Tom has been working on an article about an occult sect for months, and Jack had the roll of film developed. It shows the resurrected zombie Naft, and Ryan realizes that the corpse's face matches the one in the obituaries. Micki goes to the coroner's office to get more info on the bodies and the ram's head scars.
There is a photo of Sylvan's taxidermy shop, and Jack and Ryan go there and see a crate from the Museum of Natural History being unloaded. It's big enough for a body, and the two men go in to talk to Sylvan. They say that they're buying stock for their store, and Sylvan says that he does custom work and there's nothing left over. Once they leave, Sylvan goes through a trapdoor into the catacombs.
Outside, Jack drops Ryan off at the museum to see what he can find out.
Sylvan goes to where the crate is stored. Naft is there and tells Sylvan that the trio can't interfere, and Sylvan assures him that they won't. Sylvan says that they've found Tiriel and will have Hiberia that night. Then they will be too powerful to stop.
At the shop, Micki tells Jack that Tom's body was unmarked except for the ram's head scar. The ram's head is the symbol of Satan, and Jack finds a manifest entry on the Coin of Ziocles, which was sold to Sylvan. Ziocles was a 14th century alchemist and a powerful warlock, and minted his own coins and used them to decide whether his enemies should live or die. Jack figures that the Coin not only determines someone's fate, but seals it.
Jack and Micki go back to Sylvan's shop and hear chanting from the catacombs. They find the trapdoor and Jack figures that the crate was taken below. The duo go down and find the central chamber, where Sylvan is leading the worshippers. He resurrects Tiriel using the Coin, and Satan's voice echoes around the room. Tiriel's mummified corpse comes to life, and Sylvan tells him that he also seeks Satan's return. Sylvan promises that they will bring Hiberia back to life as well.
Micki makes a noise and the followers hear her. Jack draws them off and tells Micki to run the other way, get back to the store, and tells Ryan what they've seen. The followers go after Jack, but Naft and Tiriel cut off Micki's escape. Sylvan finds her and flips the Coin at her, and it kills her.
Later, Jack returns to the shop. Micki isn't there, and Jack tells Ryan what happened. They go back to the catacombs and find the police and the EMTs there. The followers have dumped Micki's body outside, and Ryan cries over Micki's body. Jack tells Ryan that they can't do anymore there and have to leave Micki's body there,
In the catacombs, Sylvan cuts the clay of Salem off the mummified corpse of Hiberia, figuring that it preserved the body. He says that Hiberia was Satan's mistress, and returning her to life will be their greatest service to their master. Once she's brought to life, Sylvan and the three resurrected Satanists will rule the world in Satan's name.
At the shop, Ryan wonders if what he found at the Museum matters. He looks at the bust of Micki and says that she never had a chance at life. Ryan is furious that Micki had to throw her life away chasing the Coin, and doesn't accept Jack's assurances that Micki knew it had to be done. The younger man blames Jack for running out on Micki, and Jack says that he tried to buy Micki all the time he could. Ryan isn't satisfied and attacks Jack, who grabs his wrists and hugs Ryan, and says that he loved Micki as well. However, there's no one else to stop what Lewis started.
Sylvan removes the clay from the maggot-infested Hibernia and says that it's time.
Jack finds an entry on Tiriel, who translate Satan's words into a treatise. The older man figures that Sylvan had to find the bodies before he could resurrect them, and their combined powers are enough to raise Satan. There is an entry on Hiberia, and the bodies of the Salem witches were thrown into a swamp where the clay preserved them. There's a photo of one of the other witches, similar to what Hiberia looks like. Ryan remembers that Sylvan said they'd bring back Hiberia that night, and figures they don't have much time. As they go, Ryan tells Jack that when it's finished, he's leaving for good so he doesn't have to through it again when Jack dies. Jack has no choice but to agree.
As they prepare to go, three followers break into the shop and jump the two men. One of them draws a knife and tries to kill Jack.
Later at the catacombs, Sylvan anoints Hiberia's body. Two of the followers from the shop return, and Sylvan figures that Jack and Ryan are dead. They're Jack and Ryan, and Jack puts a knife to Sylvan's throat and demands the Coin. Sylvan claims that the Coin has been lost for centuries, but Jack knows better and says that he'd enjoy killing Sylvan. Sylvan tells him that the Coin is with Naft and Tiriel, and Ryan gets rid of Hiberia's body so they can't bring it back.
Jack takes Sylvan down to the catacombs, but Tiriel jumps Jack and disarms him. Jack says that they can't kill him if they want to know where Ryan took Hiberia, and Sylvan has Tiriel spare Jack as a sacrifice for the Coin.
Soon, Sylvan and Tiriel find Ryan hauling Hiberia's body out. They reunite him with the imprisoned Jack. Sylvan tells them that when they next meet, he'll bring them to Satan. The followers gather in the central chamber and place Hiberia's body on the altar. Sylvan conjures Satan to bless the ceremony, and Naft calls on Satan to arise. Satan responds, and Jack and Ryan also hear Satan's voice as Jack works on the locks of the manacles holding him.
Sylvan places the Coin on Hiberia's forehead.
Jack breaks free and frees Ryan, and they head to the main chamber.
The Coin resurrects Hiberia and disappears as it did before. The corpse sits up... and the clay mask on it breaks, revealing that it's Micki. Satan is furious that Sylvan failed and destroys the chamber in an earthquake. Jack and Ryan arrive, and Jack carries Micki out while Ryan looks for the Coin. Satan kills his followers, including Naft and Tiriel, while outside Ryan joins Jack and Micki and says that he has the Coin.
Sylvan confronts the trio while wielding a knife, grabs Ryan, and tells him to hand over the Coin. Ryan flips the Coin into the air and breaks free of the startled Sylvan's grip. The Coin lands on the floor but nothing happens, and Sylvan realizes that Ryan flipped a normal coin. Jack and Ryan get Micki out, and the roof collapses on Sylvan. Meanwhile, Ryan realizes that he dropped the Coin, and Jack tells him to leave it rather than go back and get killed by Satan's wrath.
The next day at the shop, Ryan and Jack get Micki to bed. They explain that they snuck Micki's body out of the morgue, and Ryan made a mask of Hiberia to put over Micki's. Jack kept Sylvan busy long enough for Ryan to switch the bodies, and they had to get Sylvan to use the Coin to bring back Micki and destroy the coven. Jack figures the Coin is safe, buried beneath tons of rubble. Ryan welcomes Micki back, and says that they'll keep hunting for antiques with her.
In the rubble of the catacombs, the Coin lies next to one of the zombie's hands. The hand twitches and moves toward the coin.
