Gamble and Hicks are trying hard to put The Dysart Brothers away, but the pair present a strong image, their dubious goings on are well hidden.
It is a total irony that the show ends in The Knackers Yard.
Racing always seemed the obvious, logical choice for a story, so it's quite fitting that it ends here. It's quite a good final episode, The Dysart Brothers are very nasty, typical villains from the time, they looked the part, and had the nasty lingo.
The pacing here was rather good, a bit more intensity, more urgency, and I think the only time we to see Hicks placed in danger, early on I assumed she'd be kidnapped and tied up every other week, but gladly the writers resisted.
It does feel right for the show to end here, it had run its course, they had covered many, varied crimes.
Good, solid ending, 7/10.
