Did You Know?

The featured character in the sketch is supposed to have water squirting out of his ears. The man standing behind him (Thurl Ravenscroft) is supposed to squeeze a hidden hot water bottle under his shirt, sending water through a hose leading behind the character's head. The prop fails and several embarrassing seconds of silence pass, with Ravenscroft clearly straining in frustration. Finally, to save the punch line, Spike Jones empties his own stein over the character's head. (This blooper was edited out of the commercially available Paramount video, but is retained in the 1990s Comedy Central rebroadcasts.) See more »
