Jeff Ryder has to defend Legari, an unlicensed Doctor, who is accused of causing the death of a friend of his, using her as a Guinea pig, by giving her a drug he had devised, Anacarzin, a drug The Prosecution claim caused the death.

Nice to see an episode where Jeff Ryder is actually doing what he's paid to do, to serve as a lawyer, and we learn that he's a very smart cookie, brave, a little reckless, possibly a little fool hardy, bud definitely bold.

I thought the story was definitely an interesting one, and you have to admit, the medical industry certainly doesn't take kindly to anyone who thinks they have a bright Idea, if it's not in black and white, the assumption is....crank.

John Gabriel was rather good as Legari I thought, but of course it's the excellent Richard Conte that you came here for.

8/10.

Dr Legari is an Italian doctor who had created an experimental drug. However he has always faced persecution.

In Italy he refused to share his medical findings with the fascist government. Now he is in America.

As an unlicensed doctor he does not want to help relieve the pain of an ill old woman, Mrs Trescal. The doctor refuses to assist further but he warns Legari that he cannot administer drugs in America.

When the old lady dies. Legari is arrested for using a dangerous, untested, unlicensed drug. He had relented and injected the medicine to help an old friend's life.

Ricco Poccari has contacted Jeff Ryder to defend Legari.

Essentially a court case where Ryder struggles to defend Legari. He administers the drug on himself after an expert testifies that a single injection could kill a person in a few minutes.
