Great episode ... but tough to watch for animal lovers Warning: Spoilers
This was what I'd call, Lacroix at his most vile. The story revolves around a blind woman, her seeing eye dog and a backstory of Nick Nights which involves his dog. In the backstory, Lacroix has a Karoush (a vampire that preys on animals only ) "put the bite" on Nick's dog while he was living in the Baskervilles, Nick has to kill the dog because he goes attacking humans. Lacroix strikes again on a blind woman Nick knows and has a Karoush put the bite on her dog as well, forcing Nick into the same situation. I found it difficult to watch, as I'm an animal lover and have had two dogs myself. The surprise ending was great, but far as I'm concerned it showed Lacroix at his most evil.

One of my favorite episodes

Warning: Spoilers
One of the series' best episodes, at least in my opinion.

The main story is about Jodie Frazier, a blind police officer suffering from Multiple Sklerosis, whose seeing eye dog is being brought over by a Karouche. The dog is found to be a threat to humans and for the secret of the vampire community, so Nick Knight has no other choice than to put him down. But the dog manages to escape, returning to Officer Frazier's home and turning her into a vampire, curing her disease in the process. Since Jodie Frazier, being a healthy (if that term applies here) vampire herself now, can adequately take care of her dog, Detective Knight no longer has a reason to kill him.

The episode is one of my favorites, because it shows someone suffering from a severe disease, but still going on with her life as good as possible, instead of just giving up. It takes a strong personality to do that and I find this story (partly because of my own situation) quite inspiring. Even if a cure is impossible, or at least improbable, keep going and make the most of whatever is left of your life. Who knows, what the future has to offer?
