Double-crossing victim
20 May 2007 | by (Valencia, Spain) – See all my reviews

This was a pretty good episode which featured a mystery killer who was apparently targeting a hapless call-girl who had befriended the vampire Janette at her Raven club. Knight is busy tracking the suspects yet they seem to keep dying as the killer gets closer to the presumed victim. Janette sees in the prostitute her own past before she was brought across by LaCroix.

As Knight keeps striking out, Janette takes steps to help her protégé, but the results could be disastrous. As usual in this series, various innocent people get killed due in part to the bungling of the detectives. While Knight uses his job in order to grow as a person and explore the depths of his soul; one or two people get killed in nearly every episode because Knight was following a hunch or trusting his instincts.

The end of this episode is pretty good, as once again Knight gets double-crossed and Janette almost ends up making a big mistake also. The confession at the end is a little too convenient, since it avoids dealing with the question of whether or not Janette really trusts Knight. It would have been more interesting to see what Janette would have done if the killer had denied any guilt. Knight versus Janette in a vampire battle would have been interesting to see.
