Goofs

When Jubal Early has landed on Serenity after leaving his craft, he looks into the Galley through the external windows. He crawls forward on the exterior of the hull and places his hand on the window frame just before his head appears from the top of the window. He is in Free Space but his hand is bare, not in the Space suit glove he was wearing when he closed the Airlock on his own craft. See more »

On par with Out of Gas after all.
7 November 2014 | by (Earth) – See all my reviews

In fact, on this rewatch, Objects in Space seemed even cooler than Out of Gas to me. I suppose my preference varies depending on the mood. Brief list of spectacularly awesome things about OIS:

+ River comes to the forefront and gives a glimpse of the depth within her character, as what previously often seemed like peculiarity, with occasional flashes of sharp intellect and insight, is now firmly established as broadly reaching genius. Her abilities are also strongly developed and demonstrated.

+ There is an uber-cool segment placing us into the mind of River, with superb, inventive audiovisual direction. Very fresh and memorable scene.

+ The antagonist Jubil Early is so organic, interesting, and badass that he completely dominates the episode. Fantastic acting from Richard Brooks. Early's dialogue, and the air of calm but slightly unhinged menace that he conveys in every scene, are brilliant.

+ All the other dialogue in the ep is top-notch, as well.

+ The bits in outer space are stupendously done.

All in all, Objects in Space is a masterpiece. 10/10.
