Dealing with Scorpius and problems with Talyn
31 August 2012 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

After viewing the recording made by the dead Crichton his surviving counterpart is convinced that they my go onto Scorpius' Command Carrier to destroy his work... in order to facilitate this Rygel and D'Argo have agreed to meet with Scorpius and a remote restaurant. At first it looks as if Scorpius won't be keeping his word but after establishing that they are alone and unarmed, he orders his men back to his ship. To prevent either party reneging on the deal he says he expects Crichton to wear a special bracelet; he demonstrates in on D'Argo and Captain Braca... whatever happens to one of them the other will feel! While they are finalising the arrangements to armed aliens turn up; it looks as if they are planning to rob the restaurant but they clearly weren't expecting to find a senior Peacekeeper there and aren't sure what to do; Rygel will have to think quickly if he is to save everybody. Back on Moya Jool is intending to leave on a Scarran medical ship but Chiana stops her saying she had a vision of herself mourning for Jool... soon after Peacekeepers arrive; Talyn quickly destroys their ships but he doesn't stop there; he also destroys the Scarran ship along with the six hundred people on board... clearly something must be done to stop Talyn doing it again but neither he nor Moya is willing to do anything that might harm him.

This episode had plenty of good moments; I liked the idea of the I-Yensch bracelets; these led to some amusing moments in fight scenes as D'Argo felt every blow Braca took. It was also good to see Rygel's devious mind at work as he tried to out think the two aliens. These aliens were a bit annoying though with the strange howling noises they made and their clear lack of intelligence; I assume they were meant to be funny but that didn't work for me. The action on Moya and Talyn was good; Talyn's actions came as a real surprise and they will no doubt affect him in future episodes. Chiana's growing ability to sense future danger also promises to add more to her already interesting character. Over all I found this weaker than most recent episodes but that said even weaker Farscape episodes are pretty good.
